Hair is useless. Besides, keeping us warm in the cold, it doesn’t do anything except get in the way. We strive to have halfway decent hair by loading it up full of hair products and contorting it with hot tools. Some hair professionals recommend only washing your hair every few days.
Yet, if you are an active person, this is not an option. I don’t know about you but after I go to the gym, you can guarantee I’ll be washing with some shampoo and conditioner. Likewise, over-washing dries out the hair reaffirming the crazy advice of washing it every few days. We are then led down the windy road of how to get our hair from hay to silk. The challenge of long silky locks is the basis for the vast hair conditioner market. My largest concerns when on my search for conditioners are: price and effect.
Throughout my journey to grow long luxurious locks, I have tried many different conditioners. Without a large budget to be invested in my search, I have stuck to cheaper products found in drugstores. The products which I have most recently tried are:
1. L’Oreal Paris Advanced Total Repair 5 Mask ($5.99 Target),
2. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner ($2.97 Target),
3. Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave in Conditioner ($11.96 Walmart),
4. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Conditioner ($3.42 Target)
5. Ogx Extra Strength Moraccon Argan Oil Penetrating Oil ($4.63 Target)
All of these conditioners claim to reverse damage. Obviously, the use of any conditioner is going to improve your hair's dryness. Yet out of this roster, there is one which beats the rest.
Like I mentioned early, I’m not trying to waste my money on the next best conditioner. Because truth be told, after I invest in some miracle conditioner, it’s going to work the same as my under $15 drugstore hair conditioner. Through trial and error, this roster ranks up my favorite 5 hair conditioners. The smallest amount of product is the hair oil, 3.3 oz, while the largest is the Shea Moisture, 16 oz. So, the winner for best value is Shea Moisture.
All conditioners will nourish your hair. However, the best will also be able to reverse heat and color damage. Repairing your hair while not weighing it down is the perfect balance.
Overall, my winner is Ogx Extra Strength Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil.
Coming in around the middle of the price range, it is very affordable. The small size and classification of oil are deceiving. Around 5 drops will be enough for your entire head justifying the small bottle. I have been using the same bottle for around two months and it has barely diminished. This oil has been most effective in my damp hair before brushing it. The oil is light yet enriching with a sweet scent. This makes Ogx Oil my winner in effectiveness.
My hair has been reborn since discovering this oil. I get excited to use it after I shower because besides smelling amazing, it is loading up my hair with vitamins. I can honestly say everyone should invest in this oil. It is small but powerful. Unlike other oils, the Ogx oil is light and mixes in well to damp hair. The bottle recommends using it as often as the user sees necessary. Personally, since I discovered this product, I use it after every shower. If you don't believe such a magical product exists... give it a try yourself.
