The Deeper Meaning Of Zootopia
Epsilon Reviews Zootopia 2016

As a child born in the 90s, I was always hooked on all the Disney movies. There was just something unique about all the movies they produced, and they always had an amazing message behind it. It wasn't until this year that I stumbled upon watching Zootopia with my little brother. And boy was I hooked. Despite the cute animals that were featured in the film, I was truly amazed by the worldly message behind it. The following are just few of the certain quotes that stuck to me:

1. Zootopia... where anyone can be anything.

It's true, out here in the real world, anyone can be anything they want to be. Whether it be a cop, a teacher, a nurse, a doctor, a plumber, you name it... anything is possible.

2. Well he was right about one thing, I don't know when to quit.

Judy Hopps was very driven at making a difference in the world. And even though there were so many obstacles that was proven to be a legitimate road block, that didn't stop her from pursuing what wants. So whenever there's a reason to quit in life, it's okay to slow down...but keep going and don't EVER quit.

3. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

It's in our nature to have fears, and that's okay. But if we allow fear to start taking over and controlling us, doubts starts to build up from within and we lose ourselves. So live out of the ordinary and try to get out of your comfort zone, because life is truly beautiful if you give it a chance.

4. No one tells me what I can and can't do.

The choice is yours. It's either you take the steering wheel of your life and take control or you allow someone to drive it for you.

5. Tomorrow's another day.

Bad day? That's OK. It's just a bad day, not a bad life.

6. I will take your kindness and pay it forward.

Make a habit of doing good things to others. Because life rolls in the world of karma, what goes around comes around.

7. I learned two things that day. One I was never gonna let anyone see that they got to me...

The thing is, once you allow someone to have an upper hold on you, they will just take advantage of you. There will always be mean people, but there are good people out there too. Misery loves company always remember that. So stand above them all the time, you're better than that.

8. But predators shouldn't suffer because of my mistakes.

It's true, just because one person does something bad, does not mean that everyone in that population is bad. A person is who they chose to be, and it shouldn't be a legitimate reason for judgements or stereotypes towards the rest.

9. Life isn't some cartoon musical where you sing a little song and your insipid dreams magically come true...

It's true. As much as we have these fantasies of how life could be, nothing ever goes as planned. So if you want something, work hard for it. Want to make a difference? Start within you and work your way up by influencing those around you. Life will always have a million of ups and downs.

10. It's not about how badly you want something. It's about what you are capable of.

You can want it so badly but yet it still seems like it's far. But if YOU are capable of doing the action, and getting through the obstacles then you are one step closer to that dream.

11. Real life is messy. We all have limitations. We all make mistakes. Which means, hey glass half full, we all have a lot in common. And the more we try to understand one another the more exceptional each of us will be.

It's all about accepting one another for who they truly are and not judging them based on what society tells us. Because if we just dig a little deeper, we all have something in common that's strong enough for us to connect in some way.

Disney releasing movies with messages with deeper meanings truly teaches the young audiences some life lessons translated in a simpler matter. And I truly believe that kids should have these knowledge. We're growing up in a society where there's so much hate, not enough love. So I think it's best for us to show todays youth of acceptance, and how if you really want something to change... it all starts from within.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
