Christmas is around the corner, and what's a better way of celebrating with the one you love other than date raping them?

What am I talking about? Oh you haven't heard? Well baby, it's cold outside, so let's warm up.

After listening to a "classic" Christmas duet, I've realized that the song isn't as cheerful as it seems. The protagonist of this song, a female, keeps trying to leave the antagonist's place.

"I really can't stay. I've got to go away. The evening has been. So very nice"

Each sentence the man responds by saying, "baby it's cold outside". Well first off, if he was trying to get in her pants, that is a lame ass pick up line.

"My mother will start to worry" (Hey beautiful, what's your hurry)"

CREEP alert!

"And father will be pacing the floor
So really, I'd better scurry"

She knows what's happening, at that second she should have grabbed her purse, tied her scarf around her neck, and walked out his crib.

"Well, maybe just a half a drink more"

Girl, that's where you f**ked up at; your parents should have told you about peer pressure.

"The neighbors might think... Say, what's in this drink"

At this very moment, shorty knew that it was over. He spiked her drink. Ain't no leaving bih.

"I wish I knew how (Your eyes are like starlight now)
To break this spell (I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)"

It's sad, because she knows she's been drugged and she's trying to "break the spell", but he's seducing her at this point.

"I oughtta say no, no, no sir (You mind if I move in closer)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (And what's the sense in hurting my pride)
I really cant stay (Oh baby, don't hold out)
Oh, but it's cold outside"

She's given up. She faces the inevitable and comes up with the conclusion that if anyone finds out, she can at least say she tried to escape from his sick ass.

And he's a sorry man, because I'm sure she would have given it up after the second date. He openly admits it's about his pride. PATHETIC.

*skips a few verses*

"There's bound to be talk tomorrow (Making my life long sorrow)
At least there will be plenty implied (If you caught pneumonia and died)
I really cant stay (Get over that old out)
Oh, but baby its cold outside"

There's going to be talk about the situation tomorrow because they'll find her dead body. He knows that he's going to be the main suspect, that's why his life will be long and filled with sorrow. He's going to rot in jail. But here's the catch, he thinks of a plan to say she caught pneumonia and died! Whaaaaaaat!? The victim's last words are "I really can't stay".. And just like that she's just another statistic.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
