When I was younger, Christmas used to take forever to get here. It seemed like it took years & it felt like it was never going to get here. Now that I am in college and I work all of the time, it seems like Christmas took no time to get here.
This Christmas, I am thinking a lot about my grandmother. Her name was Pebble, and she was my absolute best friend, the best friend any little girl could ask for. She loved Christmas; she would decorate the house and put up her tiny Christmas tree that would change colors, she use to get so mad because I would try and touch it.
My entire family would get together and we would have Christmas at her house. It was really the only house big enough to hold all of us! All of the kids would gather around and we would get our presents. We would all get to enjoy a great dinner and just embrace each others company. There were many times where things went a little too far but, it was too funny not to laugh about. One year, my grandma made some punch. Without thinking, she out some whiskey in there and all of the kids were drinking it! Of course, our parents eventually noticed and took it from us! Then, there was the year that she went crazy & dyed our ham green to imitate "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Suess. She claimed that everyone loved her green eggs and ham.
Needless to say, that crazy lady was the one that kept us all together. She is missed dearly, every year, every day. We love you, mamaw. Merry Christmas!
