You know what I hate? I hate when someone says something along the lines of, "Those were the best ____ years of my life!" or, "College/high school is the best four years of your life! Enjoy them!" Who are you to try and tell me that my happiness is limited in life? Why would I try to put a cap on how much I appreciate or value my life??? Sure, some years might be better than others, but to put a definite label on what should presumably be "the best" years of your life is just stupid if you ask me. The life we've been given is such a gift, I think everyone should enjoy every day as much as they possibly can. It's so easy to look back in hindsight on past chapters and events and romanticize them, and see them as better than they actually were. Everything looks "so easy" or "better" in years past, but we didn't realize that when we were actually living them. Who's to say we aren't doing the same thing now? If you think that one period in life is the absolute best and nothing will ever be able to top it, then maybe you should reevaluate your own life. Enjoy every age in life. Appreciate what changes and what stays the same. Value those who come into your life and those who leave it. Treasure every year you have.
