Dear Best Friend,
Now that I've moved away and we're both on our separate college journeys, I wanted to write you something about all the good times that I've had with you. We've been friends for a long time now and in that time we've gone through some stuff. Some of it has been serious, but most of it has been a lot of laughs and good times.
Throughout our friendship we've had A LOT of inside jokes; we've shared everything from drinks to clothes to a bed. I hope to never forget the memories we've made over the years; the hilarious, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the sappy.
Over this friendship of ours you have taught me a lot. You taught me how to treat a friend (even though that may have taken some time... I’ve tried my hardest to be nicer than when we first met haha). You taught me how to stay positive; through the years we've both had to deal with a few losses, but we managed to keep each other positive for the most part. You taught me how to reach for my goal; grades and ambition are important, and by surrounding myself with smart people like you, I kept my head above the water by us striving to make each other better. You taught me what it means to be a good friend (… and I'm still trying hard to be the best that I can); by being caring in your own way, you showed me how to be caring in my own way. Lastly, you taught me what it means to miss someone. After seeing you as often as I did for years before college, it was somewhat of a shock to only see you once every few months, if that, when we had parted ways.
Texting you is nothing like laughing and having the conversations that we had in person and I will forever cherish the moments when we do get to hang out in person.
So to my best friend I say thank you for everything, and I miss you.
