My Dearest Sister

No one will ever come close to replacing you.

My Dearest Sister

My dearest sister,

I just want to start off by letting you know that you are amazing. Everyone thinks they have the best sister, but you really are the absolute best sister a girl could ever dream of having. I know, I know, I am already getting mushy, but there is so much more coming your way, so I apologize in advance.

As the years have passed by, we have gone through it all: stealing each others clothes, slamming doors in each others faces, going to mom when we are in an argument, you name it we have done it. But with all of these petty little things that we have done to each other, we have only grown closer. When I was younger I could not even fathom with you hanging out with my friends and I. It was just too embarrassing and very annoying, but since we have grown older, you are the first person I go to if I want somebody to hang out with.

With this we have learned to be there for each other, which is something I never though would ever happen. You have been there through the thick and thin, even through things that don’t affect you. You are my shoulder to cry on, and even rarely, a person to cuddle me while I cry. Just like you are there for me, you have learned to trust me and open up, something you used to rarely do. You are so strong and you make me strong too.

But with the deep stuff comes fun stuff too. There is nothing I love more than just driving down the road, jamming out to our favorite song of that week, or just laying around the house in our pajamas all day watching our favorite movies from when we were younger. I know that I will always have someone who is down to go get my favorite foods, like Costco pizza.

You are more than just my sister, you are my best friend. I can always count on you to be best friend that won't leave me and I am beyond thankful for you.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
