Dear M,

I wish you knew how important you really are, especially to the people around you. I know you feel like you are unlovable, but you are loved so much more than you will ever know.

I wish you would give yourself more credit where it is due. You are one of the smartest people I have ever met, yet you don’t use it to your advantage. Not only that, but you are so unbelievably gifted when it comes to drawing and art. I am amazed at some of the things I have seen you do, and yet you let that gift stand in the background.

I wish you could see all the potential you have. You set the standards for yourself so low, and I wish you would realize all of the things you could do with the gifts you have been blessed with.

I wish I had been better to you when we were growing up. I know you tended to be obnoxious at times and you knew just how to get under my skin but I still could have been much more patient with you.

I wish you realized how much more you are worth than you give yourself credit for. I know you question a lot about yourself, and you wish you could be different, but you are perfect just the way you are and being anyone or anything different would only dim the beauty you hold.

More than anything I wish you realized how much more life has to offer than how you perceive it. While things may have not been easy for you, I wish you would realize that there is more to life than the things you have been through.

I want you to learn to appreciate the things that make life so worth it.

I want you to witness what it feels like to be truly and deeply loved. I want you to experience things you never in your wildest dreams imagined. I want you to be able to face your fears head on and be strong enough to be able to say that nothing can stop you. I want you to make it through this, so you can prove to everyone who has doubted you that you are stronger than they think. Because I know you are.

I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. Because you are so much more than you give yourself credit for.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
