Dear Spotify Commercials

As Rihanna says, "I hate how much I love you."

Dear Spotify Commercials,

As a college student with little money, I’m forced to listen to you every day. Don’t take this personally, but if I could afford to pay for Spotify premium every month, I would. The only reason I still have you is because I have to spend my limited amount of money on food and online shopping instead. It’s not that I don’t love you or anything. I just wouldn’t mind a break from you popping up every thirty minutes to talk to me.

Facebook would categorize our relationship as “It’s Complicated.” I just go about my day and then you come out of nowhere, unwanted. Sometimes I’m excited to hear you because some of your commercials are quite catchy; other times, though, you interrupt me when I’m jamming out, so, naturally I can’t help but get annoyed. Sometimes you remind me of that random girl who comes up to me at a party. Although she might have something interesting to say, she’s kind of annoying. The only difference between you two is that I can’t pay $9.99 a month to keep her away.

Most importantly, I feel like you owe me some answers. The cliffhangers you leave me with keep me up some nights. I’m just dying to know what the man is trying to say when he has a “loss for words.” Also, for the amount of times you rave about the new taco at Taco Bell, I really want to know if it is actually going to be the biggest thing since 3-D printers and even bigger than the election! Solve these mysteries!

Despite our complicated relationship, I know that at the end of the day it’s worth listening to you because I get to listen to whatever music I want to listen to for free. It’s a sacrifice that I’m willing to take.

Love,

Your devoted (but slightly annoyed) listener

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
