Dear Shrimp Lovers,
National Shrimp Day is May 10th and it's time to whip out that seafood bib! We shrimp lovers know that there is no wrong way to make shrimp other than not making shrimp. There is nothing more satisfying than watching the curvy lil' beauty go from opaque to a beautifully, vibrant pink in only a matter of minutes. My greatest shrimp-speration is Bubba from the classic 90s film, Forrest Gump. He embodied the true meaning of what it is to be a foodie and a shrimp lover. If there is one lesson that I took away from that movie, it is that there are a vast number of ways shrimp can be prepared.
To kick off the shrimp festivities, let’s take a look at all the different types of shrimp you can gorge yourself with through the vision of Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue.
“You can barbecue it,
boil it,
broil it,
bake it,
saute it.
There're shrimp-kabobs,
shrimp creole,
shrimp gumbo.
Pan fried,
deep fried,
stir-fried.
There’s pineapple shrimp,
lemon shrimp,
coconut shrimp,
pepper shrimp,
shrimp soup,
shrimp stew,
shrimp salad,
shrimp and potatoes,
shrimp burger,
shrimp sandwich.
That, that’s about it.”- Bubba
Every day should be National Shrimp Day!
