Dear roses,
We are not that different.
We draw blood without meaning to,
we allure people with just being,
and we tend to have people clip our thorns so it's more convenient for them,
because no rose can be touched without hurting the affectionate. We don't want to be touched that's why our thorns are there but we want to be admired that's why our petals are rich.
If we don't bloom for admiration, we bloom for ourselves because at some point our pricks will drive everyone away and we will be left alone,
and we're just fine with that.
Because we don't want to be touched, we don't need admiration, we don't need to be clipped, we don't need you to tell us we're beautiful.
Don't confuse my flower with innocence because as soon as you get close enough you'll see my thorns,
and if you can truly see,
you'll seem them from a mile away.
