Dear pocket dress designers,

Thank you. Because of you, the world is a better place. That little bit of extra fabric you attach to the inside of a dress makes those dresses ten times better. When that dress is both cute and on sale -- bet your bottom dollar, I'm buying it.

While I don't consider myself a feminist, I do think there is one thing about being a girl that is unfair -- pocket sizes. Ask any girl on the street about her pockets, and she will tell you that they're not big enough. Heck, they might even be fake or decorative! They might not even be meant to hold things! What kind of trash pockets are those? Designers simply don't understand the need us ladies have for pockets.

But you do. You understand the struggle women face on a daily basis. Where do our phones go? Where are we supposed to put a tampon when going to the restroom? It's simple, in our pockets. Unless, of course, the designer has deemed themselves too fancy to put in functional pockets in their dang pants, if there's any pockets at all. Ugh, it's so annoying! But you understand. You know that pocket dresses are not only far more amazing than dresses without pockets, but you know these dresses have pockets that are functional!

The fact that my phone fits into my dress pocket better than my jeans pocket says something about the female fashion industry -- it's screwed up. I'm not asking for much here; I'm just asking for a place to put my belongings and my hands. Let's face it, you instantly look cooler with your hands in your pockets, and pocket dresses make this possible.

On the note of decorative pockets, can those not be a thing anymore? If you're going to put pockets on a dress (or pants, for that matter), then gosh darn it, they should be functional! I don't care about the fancy buttons, I want to be able to put my hands in them without looking stupid.

Pocket dress designers, thank you because you make life a little better. You make it possible for women to look put together and have the ability to stick stuff in their pockets -- it's the best of both worlds! Because of you, I get endless compliments when other women notice my already fabulous dress has pockets. The person who decided to hide pockets in the pleats of dresses -- it was genius, pure brilliance. They deserve some sort of award! Then they can stick that award in the pocket that is strategically hidden in the pleats of their dress.

Thank you for making life a little better, dresses a little more fun to wear, and functional pockets a little easier to come by.

Your forever fan,

A pocket dress lover

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
