Dear Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I am so happy I have finally found you. You are the one I want to spend every day with and share every laugh, tear, and triumph with. I can't wait to purchase our first home, pay bills with you, burn every meal for the first year with you, and meet our children for the first time with you. Everything that has every happened to you is now my past and everything that has happened to me is now your past.

I want to say a quick thank you to you. I know that I can stand my ground and cause fights but thank you for just being mellow. You mellow me out when I need it most. Thank you for making me push towards my dream every single day. Thank you for loving my family. They are my roots and some of the strongest people I know. Thank you for putting up with my singing and dancing everywhere. I know it takes a lot to not get embarrassed. Thank you for being you at all times. You are my rock and my anchor. And finally, thank you for accepting my past. I know that if each and every thing that happened to me didn’t, I wouldn’t be standing here in this dress about to walk down to the man of my dreams.

Now, I want to make a couple promises to you. I promise I will work every day at our marriage and strive to make our bond stronger and stronger. I promise to be open with you. I promise to clean the house and help you do the yard work. I promise to let you have a whole room to yourself and let you decorate on your own. I promise to raise our children with love and respect. I promise to stand by your side no matter what. I promise to first love myself every day knowing that it allows me to love you and love our relationship more.

I look in the mirror and I am stunned. How did I ever deserve such an amazing person to stand my side? I may never know, but I am going to work every day to be the woman you deserve. I love you….Forever.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
