Just because I love you guys...

Dear My Beautiful Best Friends,

When I think of who my best friends are, you three pop right into my head. We have experienced a ton of things together and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have to thank each of you for everything that you have helped me learn about myself. Without you lovely ladies in my life, I don’t think I would have made it through all those crazy times. There are a couple of things that I need to make sure that you know and what better way to do that than in this letter.

First of all, you three will stand next to me on my wedding day in dresses that I promise will actually look stunning. After everything in my love-life that you have gone through with me, how could I not have you be a part of the most important moment in my love-life?Plus, who else is going to talk me through my panic attack when something goes wrong and who is going to know how to talk me out of killing my soon-to-be husband? I would never want to have anyone but the three of you by my side for my momentary “Bridezilla” state. Thanks in advance for not killing me on this day, whenever it comes around.

The second thing you all need to know is that I appreciate each of you so much. Whether it’s listening to me cry about something ridiculous that isn’t even worth crying over or putting up with my attitude when I shouldn’t even be taking my anger out on you. You girls have dealt with all of my nonsense (some more than others) and for that I am oh so very grateful. Anyone else would have walked away from me or told me to get out of their face, but not you guys. You are the people who have stood by me and supported me in all those not so fun and not too happy times. Thanks for not just abandoning me because of the outrageous things I put us all through.

The third and last thing that I need you three to know is that I love you. I know that is the one thing I tell you fairly often, but I just like reminding you. I love each of you so dearly it’s just virtually indescribable. You are the three people that I know will be there for me when I need you the most. I want to make sure you know that I will be there for you whenever you need me as well. I love you three more than you can understand! Thanks for letting me love a group of girls as much as I love all of you.

There is so much more that I could sit here and rattle on about, but I won't in order to spare each of you the tears. Instead, I'll end this on a more positive note. Here's to all the crazy (both the good and bad) times to come in the near and distant future!

Thank you for everything,

Love you always!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
