Dear Mother Nature

I love you, but we need to have a little chat.

Dear Mother Nature,

You know how much I love you. You're beautiful, you give us the ability to live literally on your skin, but girl... this weather, has got to stop.

I understand, I really do, that life is hard, and especially as women, we can be super indecisive. No judgment here on that. But, you're really hurting my feelings about this whole, 40-degree weather for one day then a snow storm the next... you know what I mean?

I know that I'm here in New York and you're probably thinking, "You need to leave this place, like, it's New York, come on." But here's my argument.

I know it's going to snow here, every winter, forever (well, let's hope. Because if it doesn't snow in New York than that's a problem), but let's get back to normal seasons! What do you think?! Let me break it down for you.

Spring. Spring is the second season of the year, and it's the most uplifting. When the snow starts to melt, the flowers start to grow, and the birds start chirping, ugh. I love it. Sometimes we get a little snow in April but girl, I get it. No one's perfect. You're trying your best and I am here to back you up, always.

Let's head to summer. Summer is one you do an amazing job with. Sunshine, some thunderstorms, the heat, humidity. Amazing. Everything is where it's supposed to be. You're doing amazing.

Next, to Fall (my favorite)! Fall is just an amazing season. The leaves changing gives the air a specific scent. It's the season of apples, pumpkins, HALLOWEEN, and sweaters. So beautiful! But sometimes, you throw us a little curve ball, with a little pre-Winter snow. Do you get impatient, I mean, it is beautiful! But girl, that snow is cold! Can we keep Autumn and Winter separate? The snow is just... ugh. We all know it's coming and just want it to hold off. I think we're only really safe from it in Summer. Wait... right?

And here we are. Winter. The longest 3 and a half months of all of our lives. I know you wanna keep us on our toes so throwing in some warmer days and teasing us with the snow melting is a little cheeky. Once in a month is okay, like you can get away with that. Twice in a month, eh. But girl, when you start throwing in a 45-degree day each week........WHY. You're driving us CRAZY! WE ARE CRAVING THAT SUNSHINE, ONCE WE GET IT FOR ONE DAY AND YOU TAKE IT AWAY....IT'S LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY!

KEEP THE SEASONS SEPARATE! Whenever we think the snow is starting to melt, we get tricked and wake up the next morning with 3 inches! Stop! It's madness!

I'm sorry. I got out of control. I just feel so emotional. I just hope you understand how much this means to us.

Thank you, and I love you always,

A Cold New York Girl

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
