Dear Mom, Thank You For Everything
Adrienne Newcomb

The definition of a mother is "a woman in relation to a child or children to whom she has given birth." But a mom is so much more than that.

Some say that diamonds are a girls best friend, but I would have to disagree. Through every up and down, good times and bad, you've seen it all. The temper tantrums, late nights stressing over a school project, tears over a boy, and my morning hair. Everything that I've put you through or that we have faced together, you've handled with a smile on your face and not one complaint. You constantly teach me new life lessons and show me different ways to look at the world around me. You remind me to be confident in my own skin when I feel sad, you encourage me to push harder when my back is against the wall, you always know what to say (or cook) when I've had a long day, you let me borrow your makeup and clothes, you give me style tips, you give me advice for when I have girl drama, but most importantly, you make me want to be a better person every single day. Whenever I feel like giving up, I think of you right there beside me to walk with me down whatever path I choose. If I can be half the mother you are some day, I will have succeeded.

So thank you, for all of those reasons and more. Thank you for loving me and showing me just how fun (yet crazy) being a mother is. Being a mother is an enormous commitment and sacrifice, one that I am so happy you chose to make. Thank you for not only being my mom, but being my friend, my confidant, and my number one fan. Without you, I'd be nowhere. I love you, momma.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
