Dear Innocent, Freshman Me,

... you have gained some wisdom and lost a lot of sleep.

If only you had been a little wiser ...

Dear innocent, freshman me,

I wish you had been a little wiser back as a freshman in college. Realized that not everybody will make it with you to senior year, that boy at the bar is not the best decision, don't skip that class because you do not feel like it, or your hair and makeup has to be perfect all the time.

Well, you finally made it to senior year believe it or not. It seemed like it was yesterday when you were moving into your dorm and telling the parents goodbye. Classes aren't as scary anymore except the 8 a.m.'s. All those boys you thought you maybe would be with are long gone and in the past. You don't dress up like your high school senior self. You have realized that sometimes the best purchase at Walgreens is dry shampoo with cream and coffee.

You have gained so much and matured in these past few years at college. Living in the dorm has past and have moved into an apartment. You have proved to be more of an adult than you were three years ago. Three years ago, you were not making budgets or focusing on classes. Your goal for the next week was what was everyone going to wear, which bar we would go to, or whose closet we would raid.

Being older, you have stopped falling for guys who do not know what their tomorrow looks like. Ones that remember to text you back, want to take you out on dates, and possibly see a future with. You have learned that it is better to be single than to be with someone who made you miserable. You are not the freshman girl who went out to the bar and hoped to get a number by the end of the night.

Education has become more important and you see a finish line. It has became clear that class requirements are becoming less and books are increasing on the table. The library has become the popular place instead of the bar. Spending time at the library is the second to next place you spend your time at besides sleeping. It has become so important to actually learn all the information instead of cramming for a test that won't matter after Friday.

You don't feel the need to have to go out and be the life of the party. You have grown into an adult. You have learned from mistakes and taken them to make you a better person. You have changed your aspect on life. Your goals and ambitions are on a more and narrow path.

You are going to do great things in your life. You have done so many great things and many more that will affect you in the future.

Sincerely,

A much wiser and older version of yourself

P.S.

That freshman fifteen would come off like you knew it would.

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? 18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

Happy Birthday Cake

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
