Dear Hate,

This is an open letter to hate

Dear Hate,
Man vs Debt

Dear Hate,

In time of madness, you sure do know how to make an apprentice. You're neither good or bad, but you are selfish. You're an emotion, but sometimes you can get out of hand. You can cause riots and pain. People suffer because of you and it's not that you're a bad guy, its because people don't know how to express you. Especially now, with everything going on you are on everybody's mind. People are using you the wrong way. Since people don't know how to deal with you in a respectful way, they are burning symbolic pride and splitting worlds apart. Also, in other circumstances, you can cause sadness. You can hate other people and what they are doing, but do you stop and think about what you're doing to them? Is it really any concern to you on how they live their life? With that type of attitude, you can drive humans to self-hate and self-consciousness. That doesn't matter to you, does it? Sometimes if it goes full circle the reason why people hate is because someone hated them first.

Like I said you're just an emotion. I believe you could be used for good. You could fuel compassion in a way that changes the world. For example, I hate seeing kids on the street without any food or place to act like a child. One day I hope that more people open their homes up to children like that. I feel like people hate for the wrong reason. Hate because you what to express yourself and get out anger, not to tear someone down. Everyone gets mad, but that's not a reason to have a tantrum and ridicule people all over social media. Time for you to grow and express your hate and then turn that hate into love. Show people that you can change and act like an adult and not act like a spoiled millennial. Step out of that selfish shell and put your words into action and chose to be love instead of hate. I believe and pray that people would hate the world enough to make a change to better the lives of others. I pray that you turn the hate you have for the world in to love.

Sincerely,

Love

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
