Dear Georgia, Bring Me Fall

Fall is the best time of the year, and it isn’t here yet.

Today is November 3rd and the high is going to be 80 degrees. I want to wear leggings and sweaters and boots and guess what I can’t do? Wear all those lovely fall items. And why can’t I? Because it’s literally 80 freaking degrees.

I haven’t been able to cuddle under blankets with hot chocolate. In the mornings it’s chilly and by the afternoon I have pit stains the size of Texas. I can’t enjoy my Pumpkin Spice Lattes like the basic white girl I am cause it’s hot as balls outside.

I want to go hiking in the mountains but guess what? It’s waay too hot to enjoy the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. Apple Picking? Maybe, if I feel like sweating my ass off. Even Halloween was ridiculously hot. Not fun.

Georgia, if you’re listening, please please please bring me my fall. It’s my favorite season and I haven’t been able to enjoy anything of fall that I enjoy. I want the clothes, the lattes, the beautiful color-change of the leaves, I want it all. Georgia, I’m ready for fall.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.
