Dear Future Little,

More than likely, right now you're celebrating your graduation. It's a huge step in your life and I'm more than proud of you. In a few short months, you'll be embarking on an even grander adventure: college, the big bad world of adulthood. It's equally as terrifying as it is amazing and it's alright to be afraid. Hell, I know I was.

As your future Big, I have a few promises for you. The first is, you will never be alone. In any time of need be it at 3:00 a.m. after just breaking up with your boyfriend, or just needing someone to sit with in the cafeteria because you don't want to go alone, I will always be there. Don't ever hesitate to ask me, even if you feel like you're being a bother. Believe me when I say that I want to be there for you. I didn't take you on as a side project. You're my night and my day, my child. And just like a mom, I will always be one phone call away.

Another promise I have for you is that I will be your mentor. No school that I've ever heard of has offered a class on adulthood (if you went to one please let me know and teach me all you can. I don't have everything figured out), but I can try my best to impart my year(s) of knowledge to you. Need help with a class? I've probably been in that same Gen-Ed or know about it from having listened to my friends talk about it in previous years. Need advice about a guy? I'm here to listen. Want to know which clubs are worth joining? Let me introduce you to my groups, because I signed up for every single one on campus, only to narrow myself to the ones I found to be amazing. Want to know the best places to eat around campus? Girl, if there's one thing I've picked up as a freshman, it is the food repertoire of a Parisian food critic. Even if you think I may have some knowledge about what you need, I most likely have a good idea of what to do or who you need to meet.

As your Big, I also promise to be there for you. Leaving home to live on a campus where you know virtually nobody can be hard, especially with the fear of not making friends. If for some reason you wind up alone (which I find hard to believe because I wouldn't take on a Little unless you are absolutely kick ass), I'm happy to be graced with you as a friend and your number one fan. I love going on adventures, so if you have no one else you'd rather take somewhere as simple as Steak N' Shake (which is a good time in itself) I'd be honored to make the trek with you.

Speaking of adventures, you'd better gear up, Darling. Random shopping trips, exciting drives through the city, and exploring our campus, even more, are all in store for you. As an adventurer myself, I've made it my goal to make your first year absolutely unforgettable.

I can't promise that I'll be as cool as you hope, but I can guarantee that I will fight every day to be the best Big around. Someone as wonderful as you deserves the world. If I can give you a glimpse of it, you'd better believe I will.

I can't wait for you to join my family Little, and I hope you like my little piece of heaven as much as I do. So keep it up, Child. College is arriving fast and I can't wait to see you on Bid Day.

Love,

Your Big.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
