Dear Future Big

You're my new person

I have never been more excited to get to know someone. You are the person I’m going to count on to teach me, grow with me, encourage me and inspire me. Please be that. Yes, I have role models. But having a big sister like you gives role model a whole new meaning. Sisterhood is already something that’s incredibly important to me. Now, I have someone to expand the idea of it and truly teach me the depth of what it means. Don’t let me down; I need you just like every other future little needs her specific future big.

I know there will be times when we disagree. I know we won’t always want the same things in life. There will be times when I need your advice, and you might not know what to tell me. That’s okay. I just need you to love on me and support me. In return, I’ll do the exact same for you. I’ll always be there for you when you need me because that’s the entire point of it. We’re a dynamic duo, and I hope we’re inseparable. I want us to learn from each other because I know we can. The way I see it is we will be paired together for a reason. God knew what He was doing when He put you in my life, and now we get to work together to be kingdom workers. More than anything, it's important to me to have someone that will lead me in Christ. I need that kind of role model, and I hope and pray that I will get that from a big like you.

There is nobody who knows everything about me. All my favorite things, all my little quirks, all my mistakes and successes. And I can’t wait for someone to be that and know those things. You will be that for me. Hopefully, I’ll be that for you, too. We’ll build each other up as we work through hurt and heartache, and we’ll celebrate each others’ happy moments and successes. I already love the heck out of you. I am going to look up to you so much. I can’t wait for endless coffee dates, the late night talks, and someone to call at any hour of the day. I couldn’t be more excited. You’re my new person.

Lastly, I can't wait to learn from you how to be a big. Before we know it, the day will come that it's my turn to be a big. And I'm going to take after you. I can't wait to be the best version of myself for my own little, but before that, I get to be yours. So here's to us, and I love you, big.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
