Dear Freshmen,
As your first semester is coming to an end I truly hope your first experiences as college students have been remarkable. I hope that you’ve made lifelong friends, I hope that you’ve gotten out of your comfort zone, and most importantly, I hope you’re cherishing every moment. Before you know it, you’ll be in my shoes looking at your last month of college.
This week I started writing my last term paper, I submitted several applications for grad school, and perfected my resume for the job hunt. In two months I will no longer be a college student, and I am both fearful and eager for my future.
In two months there will be no meal swipes, and it’ll no longer be acceptable to live off of ramen and easy mac. I’ll have to trade my VS pink yoga pants for work pants and step into a world I never thought I would reach.
Freshmen, join every club that interests you, go out on a Saturday even if you didn’t finish your homework-that’s what Sunday’s are for. Have fun with your friends, you won't be in college forever. Stay true to who you are, and never pretend to be something that you’re not to make friends. Stick up for yourself, always. Learn how to resolve conflicts instead of making them worse. Take odd jobs, talk to people you normally wouldn’t. You have four years to become a person ready to take on the real world, don’t waste one second of it.
Make these four years the best four years. It’ll be over in the blink of an eye.
Love,
A graduating senior
