Dear Cru Fam,

I hope your summer is going well and that you are able to see the Holy Spirit in whatever season of life you are in. I want to start off with saying thanks! Thanks to the people who I barely know throughout Central Ohio Cru who stop whether its at the Roosevelt Coffeeshop (winks at Carly) or throughout Columbus just to say, "Hey!" Thanks to the sisters and brothers in Christ at Capital that have shown me so much about faith. Thanks to the sisters and brothers in Christ that do the small things -- a smile goes a long way. Overall, thanks to everyone in Cru, whether I know you like your my sister or barely know you, you are my sister/brother in Christ! I love seeing all the stuff you guys are doing this summer throughout social media and how you are all connecting to Christ at a deeper level. Its so cool to see the simple reminders in life of how JC is so awesome, but there are sometimes when life isn't A+ and great.

I know we cannot wait to be reunited on Tuesday nights worshiping and learning with each other (or at least I can't)! However, I wanted to share this next part with you guys because I find it so refreshing when I want my Tuesday Cru and nothing else. Read this for a second and just think about it:

"Prayer is how we develop a relationship with the living God. Prayer is how we voice our struggles to God so He can take them and release us from them. So often we will pick up the phone to call a friend when we are worried, scroll through a newsfeed to get our minds off our problems, or seek advice from unidentifiable group of "friends" on social media when God is right there ready to help. God needs to be our first call" (Mydlo, 2).

Isn't this just amazing? This has showed me that community is great, but God is FABULOUS! Prayer is something we do not always spend enough time on and when we do it is short sometimes. I am trying to learn more about my faith and learning different ways to pray and be quiet and it has been such an magnificent journey. I'm so hyped to see you all and share summer stories! There is so many things that I can't wait for this year, but when people ask Cru is always mentioned!

Your Sister in Christ,

Emily

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
