A common myth among college students is that your body turns invincible during their four years spent pursuing a degree. They assume their nights spent partying will not come back to bite them (plot twist- they will). However, a detrimental habit that seems to be plaguing many college students, especially during midterm/final season is depriving your body of sleep, typically with the help of pharmaceutical "study pills", for the sake of studying.
A week ago, I pulled an all-nighter the night before an Organic Chemistry exam in an attempt to study and I am still recovering from it. Honestly, getting a full night's sleep probably would have served me better.
Trust me, it's not worth it. Countless studies have reaffirmed the notion that getting a good night's sleep will help you do better on an exam than pulling an all-nighter and attempting to cram 6 weeks of material into your brain. There is a reason that sleep deprivation is a form of torture. Also, not sleeping can have the same effect on impaired judgement as a night of drinking. Repeat after me: sleep is a good and magical thing.Sleep is not the enemy.
