Maybe its time we take a moment to pause and rethink what the Bible says about love.
.) But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.-Luke 6:35
.) The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no commandment greater than these.”-Mark 12:3
.) 4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5.It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.-1 Corinthians 13:4-8
.) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
.) Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8
.) Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
.) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
.) There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:18-19
.) Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:12
.) 16. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18. Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18
.) 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38. This is the first and greatest commandment. 39. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39
God wants us to love those around us, and not live in fear and in hatred. We must learn to accept those around us, even if they are different than us.
