Dear Chelsea Handler

You are not a hero to women.

I have literally just peeled my eyes away from reading the atrocity that is Chelsea Handler's abortion confession. I am in complete and total awe of the stupidity and inconsiderate nature of this woman (though she claims to have made the “thoughtful” decision). I am disgusted, to be perfectly honest. Here’s why:

Yeah, she “happened to f*** up twice,” when she was a teenager. We all screw-up, I will not deny that. I will also not deny that humans are sexual beings. Especially teenagers. That’s just scientific fact. You know what else is scientific fact?

IF YOU HAVE UNPROTECTED, IRRESPONSIBLE SEX, YOU WILL GET PREGNANT.

YOU make that decision and you have the audacity to just up and decide “oops, I shouldn’t have done that, let’s just take away this life I created irresponsibly.” TWICE. TWICE you took away someone else's opportunity to be a mother. TWICE you crushed someone else's dreams of holding that little life in their arms, a life that some people cannot have the PRIVILEGE of creating because science and God said no to them, but yes to an ungrateful and irresponsible human being (which I do not totally understand, but I am not God).

Let’s just break down this whole abortion issue really quick - a fetus has a heartbeat as early as six weeks gestation.

Six weeks. Six. Unfortunately, most women don’t even know they’re pregnant until after that. I get that every woman does not dream of being a mother, and nobody said you have to be a mother to this thing you’re growing inside you. But for someone to say it’s not a life, a human life, is untrue. He or she has a heart, and it’s beating. If I reached inside your chest and ripped out your heart, you’d be dead because you no longer have a beating heart inside your body. Same concept here. The fetus has one, therefore it’s living. End of story, in my opinion. So, you don’t want to be a mother. Your empty womb doesn’t bother you. Well, guess what? IT BOTHERS SOME PEOPLE. Some women dream their whole lives about being a mother, but they can’t. These women normally choose to adopt, but oh, oh no, the perfect baby they always dreamt of, never got the chance to be loved because you made a SELFISH decision. SELFISH. You couldn’t spare your body and live with the consequences for nine months out of your life.

I will also take this time to say that we need more sex education in the United States to keep things like this from happening.

But much like the way divorce has become so easy these days, abortion is the easy and selfish way out of something you chose to do.

Learn to live with the decisions you make, people. Please. Just learn.

This is a messy article. It’s the messiest one I have ever written. Because I am so angered by this woman I cannot even think straight anymore.

Chelsea Handler, you’re utterly unfunny (even before I knew all this) and now you’re just an awful human.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
