Dear Boyfriend, You Made It Great

My Christmas break and life has been so much better with you in it.

There are just so many things great that my boyfriend has done for me, and he deserves to be in the spotlight for a few minutes:

That Christmas dinner you made was special. Not because we both forgot sides, so all we had was chicken and some deliciously salty gravy. It was special because we stood there picking at the chicken like hyenas eating at the carcass of an elephant while dipping our meat into the gravy - laughing. It was wonderful because, after we filled our bellies to the point of near explosion, we crawled into bed and slept until the alarm would not shut up - until work screamed for me to return.

This Christmas was the most amazing I have ever had. Not because of the presents, although I definitely enjoy those. It was amazing because it consisted of grand waffle eating around some coffee with my parents. And then it allowed me some alone time before I had to shuffle off to work for an extra long shift.

The day after Christmas was wonderful. I didn't spend it with my family, but with you (after work of course). We had an amazing time after devouring some Taco Bell. We cuddled and talked and just could not stop laughing. Of course that is normal, I almost always have a smile on my face when I am with you.

The Saturday after Christmas was perfect. Once we stepped into Bowl America and you got a strike on your first bowl using your left hand because you broke your thumb, I knew that we were going to have a great time. Of course, I may have known that before I ever picked you up, but that is besides the point. I'm still upset that you got two strikes, and I got none while using a perfectly non broken right hand, but that is okay. Obviously, you are way better at bowling than me. Regardless, I could not stop smiling because you just made my day light up like a christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.

Any day I spend with you is astounding. I smile so hard sometimes I fear that my face may become stuck like that forever, then I realize that that is an irrational fear so I just go back to smiling as hard as I possibly can. You just make me happy, and on-top of that you are hilarious. You and I have similar senses of humor, so there are only dull moments when we are sleeping. Those are not even really dull, just quiet once you block out my outrageous snoring.

Not only do you make me happy, but you make me feel butterflies. Even though we have been together for a couple years and I feel almost completely comfortable around, you every time I go and see you I get butterflies like crazy just like when you asked me out, the first time you kissed me, and when I met your family for the first time. The fact that you have such an effect on me makes me fee like we are meant to be, and I love you and your goofiness so much. You mean everything to me.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
