To Black Friday shoppers,
This is an incredibly chaotic and busy day for retailers, as I'm sure you all are well aware. In light of this, I thought I'd take a moment to ask a few things of you while you are out fighting your way through crowds to get the best deals on a variety of items.
Please remember that the employees are human.
Yes, it is our job to clean up and make sure that you are satisfied. That does not give you a right to be rude and berate us for things beyond our control. We do not control the prices, the number of people in the store or the manner in which they act, our hours, how much stock we get, and so forth. If you don't get there in time to get your items, that is in no way our fault, it's yours.
We want to get you in and out of the store as quickly as possible, trust me. That being said, we are human and we make mistakes. If this happens, tell us but in a kind and respectful way, and we will be more than happy to help you. Please also remember that many of us, especially college students, have to miss spending time with our families since most sales start on Thanksgiving. Please consider that as we do our best to make your day as pleasant and efficient as possible.
There is also the fact that Black Friday is literally the craziest day of the year. You know it, we know it. If we seem a little frazzled, it's because there's a million and one things going on and we have no idea where to start. Again, please be patient with us. We are literally doing the best we can in a very busy and trying time.
That being said, we hope you find everything you need this holiday season and leave the stores with a smile on your face.
Sincerely,
Black Friday retail workers
