I know I haven't mentioned it, but thank you for all that you do. I know I don't tell you often, but you are my best friend. You are the person I go to when I am struggling with life, boys, and school. You are the person I go to when I am feeling low and need a pick-me-up, and also the person who will be brutally honest with me even when I don't want to hear it. I know I don't tell you this often, but thank you.

Thank you for supporting every choice I have ever made, even when you don't like it. Thank you for always being my own personal cheerleader and always reminding me that I can do anything I want as long as I put my mind to it.

Thank you for always giving me the best education possible. I know you and dad sacrificed a lot sending me to private schools, but I am thankful every day for it.

Thank you for always sticking up for me, even when I was in the complete wrong. You easily could have turned the other cheek and let me deal with the consequences, but you never did. You always stood up for me and always protected me.

Thank you for always showing me that a home cooked meal isn't just a meal, it's a way to bond with people and a way to gather people together.

Thank you for always treating me more like an adult rather than a child. You allowed me to grow and mature and become my own person.

Thank you for always showing me how I deserved to be treated and to never allow myself to be treated any less than what I deserve.

Thank you sticking by my side even during the most embarrassing moments of my life and showing me that they're okay.

Thank you for showing me how to be strong not physically, but mentally and emotionally. I saw how well you handled the toughest situations and I hope to handle situations just as well as you have.

Thank you for showing me what true love is because you showed me it's not just about romance. You showed me it's about friendship, laughter, fun, forgiveness, honesty, and humor.

Thank you for not only being my mom but my friend. Actually, thank you for being my best friend. You are and always will be my best friend and I couldn't have asked for a better one.

I love you, mom!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
