Dear America, It Will Be Alright

Whether you support one side or the other, it's important for us to work together regardless of our differing views.

As the election results for 2016 have finally rolled in, there is an overwhelming amount of hate and sadness that seems to have been amplified by the outcome of this election. As I walked to class on the day the results came in, the atmosphere of the campus felt much different. I could see the sadness in the eyes of those who had hoped for a different outcome. This election really seemed to have taken such a huge toll on the American public this year. Regardless of the outcome or who you choose to support, we will be alright and we will come out of this stronger than ever.

So many people and families have been torn apart by this election, and it greatly saddens me. No, not everyone will always get along and not everyone will always agree with each other. That's life. It's just the fact that this election seems to have really brought out the worst in some people, and that's not okay. Many people got what they were hoping for on election day, but several others also did not. It's understandable that people would get angry over the results, but that is no means for violence. Regardless of who you support, we should not use hateful language and violence towards one another, because it will literally solve nothing. While it may be difficult to understand the opposing side, whichever it may be, we should at least try to be as civil with one another as possible. We will accomplish nothing if we are constantly throwing insults at one another and acting out. This is one nation as a whole, so it's important that we all learn to work together in the end.

The winning candidate may surprise some of us, who knows. Only time will tell that. Until then, each one of us needs to keep our heads up and take each day as it comes. The amount of hate and violent words that I've witnessed over just the past couple of days is absolutely absurd. Why should we have to live in a world ruled by hate? Things may seem to be at their worst for many of us now, but that doesn't mean that they can't get better or improve.

In this difficult time, we should try to work together as much as possible, because this country will get nowhere if we don't. We are all humans, and not everyone of us will share the exact same views. Instead of tearing more people apart, maybe the results of this election will bring people together. Instead of letting hate overcome us, maybe we should let reason and kindness take over. Whether you're happy or not with the results, we can still lift each other up and be civil. Don't worry America, we've got this.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
