As we all know a new year is here. A new start. A new day. A new year. Personally, to me 2016 was not a great year. The stress of school and work and all the senseless drama was not on my list. However as I said this is a new year and it will be well... hopefully a year to remember. Dear 2017, this one is for you.

As the new year begins there is so much that I hope for. Good health, great relationships, maybe even some weight loss!! Okay kidding if weight loss happens it happens. Well 2017, lets begin by talking about good health. In 2016 I had new issues arise as well as my dad and other members of my family and friends. For 2017 I hope you bring a healthy life for all. I want to see more positive posts on social media about having fun not about everyone being sick.

Another thing 2017 that I hope you bring with you is lost of new friendships. In 2016 I lost so many friends it was heart breaking! I felt lonely. For 2017 I want to meet new friends. Actually, I hope to meet a new best friend. You see, it gets a little lonely not having someone to tell secrets too or to text all the time. I miss having someone to confide in. So 2017, I really hope you introduce me to a new best friend. Someone to have fun with and to face many years to come with.

In 2016 I found out about my mental illness. In 2017 I want to fin new ways to cope. I want to find happiness in who I am. Not that I am not happy with myself. I just want to find more confidence in myself. 2017 teach me how to hold my head high and to face all problems as strongly as I can. I have faith I can do it.

Finally 2017, lets talk about school. 2016 left me with stress and heartache with my schooling. In 2016 I was happy to accomplish what I did by graduating with my Associate's Degree. I then was accepted into my dream school as well. It was then that it all went crazy. From having to take out a ton of student loans and then not having enough loan to cover all my classes and my books lets just say 2016 began to melt down. In 2017 I hope for outstanding grades and maybe even making deans list. A girl can dream can't she?

2017, I know I am asking a lot but I hope this year will be one to remember. I want to make changes in my life this year and I hope that you have that in store for me. From good health to outstanding grades I know you will not let me down. Please bring with you friendships and love. Oh, 2017 I look forward to everything that will happen to not only me but to others as well. Here's to you 2017!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
