Life is about to throw you a curve ball.

21

To my 16-year-old self,

Hi it’s you, a much older version of yourself actually. Right now your life is on a high. You are touring college campuses, you are in a serious relationship, you have the best friend group and life seems great! However, your life is about to change and it’s not for the best.

So that boy you are with, he’s going to break your heart and it’s going to hurt like hell. You have gone almost two years now thinking you are in love with him and that he is the “one” for you. You will have many questions and will be so confused because it will come out of no where. You will feel betrayed. Here is a little advice, don’t go back, don’t feed into the games, stay strong. You will get through it, you know you are worth it and it’s on him. He lost out on a great girl and you deserve better. And those questions you have, they will never get answered. It’s been years now and you still don’t have the answers you were looking for years ago. But just know, you will get through it and there are many other fish in the sea (Trust me J).

Life is also going to throw another curve ball at you. This time with your friends. Eventually you will begin to separate yourself and go a different direction. Trust me I know it sucks but you will get through it. You will end up finding a great group of friends to end your high school career with. You will create so many memories that will last a life time and get the chance to find out the definition of true friends. This group of girls will end up teaching you a long life lesson, to be true to who you are. There is no need to feel down or sad just know your life has just gone down a different path and that’s okay. Eventually you will get in contact with some of them again and being to rekindle those friendships.

Throughout this year you will also being to start your college search. You are in search of your “dream school”. You will be wishing away the days until you walk across that stage but, I’m going to let you in a little secrete. Don’t go around wishing away your high school career because once high school is over you are that much closer to the real world and let me tell you it is one scary idea. Remember to take a look at schools other than just for sports. This is because sports may or may not be in your future. Take advantage of all the college searches as well as the advice your mom is giving you (she is always right and will continue to be your biggest supporter in life).

Even though life will be taking a huge turn in your future, it is all for the best. You will be learning many life lessons that you will reflect on for years. You will start to find who you are and who YOU want to be. Just remember to keep true to yourself and smile!!

Good Luck and you will get through it!

Sincerely,

The older version on yourself

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
