6 Places To Shop For Affordable Christmas Gifts
Too Short for High Fashion

Okay so I'm one of those people that loves shopping for absolutely anyone. Doesn't matter the occasion, if I can shop, I'm there. But this also means that I may make occasions every once in a while, like, "It was such a good sale and I've been doing so good on my diet!" or "They were almost out of them and I figured it's 'National Women's Day' so I should buy one for every woman I know!" or even "Tom Haverford told me to treat myself!"

So, if you have a problem with shopping and you're now stuck here at the holidays with very little money and a bunch of presents you actually have to buy, let me help you out. Here are some go-to, non-pricey, show-you-really-care gifts for those people that you know you should buy a gift for but their not at the top of your list money-wise.

1. TARGET (obviously #1)

Makeup brushes for $4.64. If your giftee is a girl after my own heart, brushes are always a good idea. Top it off with some bow and a little card, and bam, your old friend from who knows where loves you for 5 bucks.

Sports shirts for guys ranging from $4-$7. Let's face it, guys are impossible to shop for. So if you're looking for something cheaper, just figure out their favorite sports team and run with it in every single direction you can take it.

2. Walmart!! (complete hell to go to, but the prices are worth it)

This is for the people that you have that goofy relationship with that you love. Get them an ugly Christmas sweater! Mens and womens, from $8-10.

And for the people that love something a little more sentimental, get them a poster with a bunch of pictures with the two of you for $3.50-$11 (depending on how big you want it).

3. Macy's!! (Seriously, here me out) Macy's has this new thing called "Last Act" where they put clothes like 80% off because they're out of season or they don't have many more of them.

Flannels: $7-11

Mens and women brand name nice T-shirts: $3.50

Mugs: $8

4. Amazon.com (It's great, but watch out for the nasty shipping hidden prices)

This is for the "crap I have 6 different Secret Santa things and I don't even like these people that much." Just kidding! They're actually pretty good gifts, just really cheap. Find a few cutesy little boxes, attach two pairs of earrings to a piece of cotton or something, and Voila. You have three perfect gifts for like $10. Make sure your giftees have earrings.

If you're over 21 and a little lazy, and trying to look classy on a budget when you go to some big Christmas party, get some $10 wineSHIPPED. Don't ask me how good it is, but all I know is there's a lot of options for cheap wine on Amazon.

5. uncommongoods.com (Last but SO NOT LEAST. Especially if you hate shopping in public close to the holidays like I do. It's like Bellingham funky stuff central)

A super cool and random gift... a microwave popcorn popper for $15.

Also, a favorite of the PNW crowd, for $15 as well.

And just because I thought was the coolest thing ever. $12.

Hopefully at least one of these was helpful for you for the most wonderful time of this year! And even if you don't know who to give these specific gifts to, there are many many more gifts at each of these places!

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
