For whatever reason, group projects in college are way more difficult to deal with than group projects in high school. Everyone in your group has a completely different schedule to deal with. Also, everyone has other assignments that they give more priority too than group projects. Overall, it's a stressful process but one that needs to be dealt with.

1. Communicate with your teammates.

This is the most important thing. If you have other things to do, tell them. Try and do some work on your own time when you can. No one likes someone who doesn't do any work without a heads up.

2. Make time to meet in person.

Talking over text can give the wrong message. Something you think sounds perfectly nice could come off as rude. It's always way easier to communicate ideas over text. Try and schedule time you can all meet up.

3. Confront the person that does not participate.

No one wants to be that person, but if someone isn't pulling their weight you need to tell them. Everyone has other work, so it's not fair for one person to skip out. If you talk to them and they don't listen, it's perfectly reasonable to talk to your professor. It doesn't make you a tattle tale.

4. Make sure you do your part.

Lots of group projects I've had to complete, my grade has also been impacted by a reflection by my teammates. You can get a bad grade and break relationships with your classmates when you are too lazy to do a couple of tasks.

5. Listen to and respect other people's ideas.

Everyone thinks their way of doing things is right. However, if everyone were to act on this, no one would ever agree on anything. Your classmates may have different approaches to solving a problem that are in fact better than yours. Make sure everyone in your project's voice is heard.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
