Stress comes in many different forms, and it can be your worst enemy. Stress happens in uncontrollable ways, so you have to find a way to control it. It is not easy. It makes your head spin and spin, until you lift the weight off of your shoulders.

The project, the test, the clinical, the work — none of these are worth the stress you feel over them.

But since all students experience stress over these things, here are 10 ways to combat it.

Exercise

The stress you are carrying can physically be burnt out of you. If you take time to exercise, you can stop worrying about all the work you have to do and all the things you need to accomplish.

Taking a run around the block, or punching a bag at the gym, will feel like such a relief to you.

Light A Candle

Sometimes, the scents of candles can help you feel relief from stress. Scents such as lavender, vanilla and rose can help comfort you and ease your worries.

Meditate

When all of your muscles are relaxed and you are calm, you will feel as though there is not a single thing in the world that is bothering you.

By meditating, you are putting your focus on your mind and your breathing. Sometimes, it might just enhance your mood, too.

Listen To Music

Listening to music can put you in a calmer, less worried state of mind. Your stress is eased because you are jamming, instead of worrying about what your actual problems are.

If you listen to calmer music, it can actually lower your blood pressure and soothe you.

Spend Time With Your Family

There is no better stress reliever than spending quality time with your family. You will know they're there for you, and hopefully, it will ease you to know that. Maybe, they can even help with whatever you are struggling with.

Smile And Laugh

Smiling and laughing are both ways you can ease stress. If you're laughing, you're forgetting what is stressing you out.

It might actually help you.

Get More Sleep

While you are so stressed about something, sleep is crucial. You need to sleep as much as you can and get an adequate amount of sleep each night. You need a good amount to help reduce the stress you are experiencing.

Check Your Diet

Watching what you eat and drink is crucial. If you're constantly throwing back shots and drinking tons of caffeine, this could be triggering your stress.

I think the best things to do are drinking water, eating a healthy and well-balanced diet, and not drinking alcohol like it's water!

Learn To Say No

If someone keeps bugging you to do something for them, and this is giving you stress, simply refuse. Saying no to someone never hurt anyone. If you learn to say no, you won't be bothered with what they need and want as well.

Stop Procrastinating

While the other things are helpful ways to reduce stress, you can actually put off stress if you stop waiting until the last minute to do everything.

If you do things within the limits of time, you actually won't be as stressed.

There are so many ways to reduce stress and so many ways prevent yourself from being triggered by stress. But the only person who can manage your stress is you. You can only handle so much, and the only limit is you.

Things will pass by, and you will get over the stress you are having. You've got this, and this too shall pass.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
