Have you ever been so stressed about one test that you're concerned it may ruin your whole life? Let's say you can't understand one concept, which means you'll fail the test, which means you'll fail the class, which means your GPA will drop, which means you won't get into a good college, which means you won't get a job, which means your whole life is over. Not exactly; you can calm down.

While school may seem stressful, between AP classes and extracurricular activities, it's actually okay if your worried, and, believe it or not, it's okay to do poorly on a test. Personally, I am always studying as much as possible before tests to make sure I get an A and keep my grades up.

But if you step back, and look at the big picture, that one test is not as important as you may think. It's one test, in one class, in one of four years of your high school or college career. It won't even make a dent in your GPA. So if you're unbelievably stressed, and freaking out, remember that it's okay to go to bed, get a good night’s sleep and just do your best.

Now, don't get me wrong, studying is important, and grades are important. If you don't study for all of your tests, of course, your grades with drop. But when you're in a situation when you have too much to do and not enough time and you are totally lost as to what you should do, remember that one test doesn't matter. Pick a test to study hard for, and relax about the other one. You'll survive, your life will not be over. I promise.

When you're in these tricky situations, it is hard to stay calm and to realize that you're freaking out over nothing. But just try to remember how many other tests you've taken and how many more you will take, and that this one is just one. Just one test that's ok to mess up on once in awhile.

All in all, remember that high school is not supposed to be that hardest thing ever. It's supposed to be fun. So don't deprive yourself of sleep, have anxiety attacks, or weekly rages because of school; instead, relax a little. Study as much and as hard as you can, but remember that it's not the end of the world if you mess up once.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
