CHAPTER 1

This is the confession of a monster. His name is Dariel Matador. He was never officially found. The only thing found was a confession on Detective Jimmy Verra’s desk. Chapter 1, 2, 5, 9, and 11 are told by Dariel Matador himself. The rest is told from the author’s point of view.

The first time I killed someone I was fifteen. I liked it even though I knew it was a crime. I write to you only in confidence. I was a good boy. My mother worked nights as a dancer at a gentlemen’s club called “The Belladonna”. My mother told me I was conceived by a half wit that happened to have a hundred dollars in his wallet coming home to his family after work. I have always hated her for that. When she came home from work she always smelled of two things, Shalimar, and sex. The Shalimar made her smell like a cheap whore. One night I went to the club out of curiosity. I watched my mother dance to a slow love song called “Moonlight Serenade”. The thoughts going through my mind at that point were unimaginable. I felt hate, love, lust, feelings no boy should feel about his mother. As I seen her dancing there I immediately fell in love with her. That was when I knew I wanted to kill someone, a woman. I smelled a powerful aroma across the room. The devils whore. A woman sat at the bar. Real friendly looking. I asked her name. She whispered to me, “Linda”. She was a woman I wanted desperately to take life from.

I read many books about murderers, but only one caught my eye. “Deadly Nightshade”. About a man killing to satisfy his habit. A mans obsession would be the end of me. There was no point trying to stop it, I wanted it, I needed it, I ached for it, I yearned for it. This would be my home away from home. I’ll visit there as often as I can. No one can stop me but the source. Her name is Selena Kyle. At least that’s her alias name she uses from the batman comics. She’s a siren, a Lorelei, and Maeve. I would stop killing for her, but I would have to kill her first. After I succeed I will slowly and silently disappear.

Your’s truly, The Copy Cat Murderer

Her name was Emily. She had blonde hair and brown eyes. She wasn’t very smart at all. I was drawn to her. She was my first experiment. I had never killed anyone before. She would be my first. Like a virgin. I met her at an audition of the play “Persuasion“. She wanted to be an actress. I followed her for weeks trying to figure her out, it wasn’t that hard. No one understands her, she’s the black sheep. The black sheep and the white rabbit. She was the type of woman I would hate.

We arranged a date. It wouldn’t be a long one like she thought. I arrived at her apartment with a red rose and a bottle of Shalimar perfume. She answered. She was the one. No family, my perfect kill. I can get away with it. The best drug of all is believing that at any given moment you could be caught.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
