Flyer's Guide to UD's Free Finals Resources

UD uses your tuition RIGHT during finals week! There are a mountain of resources, activities and (wait for it) free food! As a fellow flyer, I'm here to give you the highlights and let you know when they're happening.

Free pizza in the Library.

The LTC is always packed during finals- the Blend is kind of a watering hole. But you haven't seen a crowded library floor until you've seen this. It's a great bonding experience as you line up for free pizza- heck yeah- and all complain about exams in solidarity. This year, it's happening at 10PM in the LTC on Sunday.

Play with LEGOS or color.

Who can be stressed while playing with legos or coloring?

Free KU food.

8PM on the daily, people!

Therapy dogs.

THEY ARE SO CUTE YOU NEED TO GO. Catch them Monday or Tuesday from 4-5pm or,

Therapy BUNNY.

This cute little fluff ball of perfection will grace Roesch Library from 5-6pm on Wednesday.

Free coffee and tea.

Catch this in a variety of places, namely in the Blend Express 9am, or 1am in the LTC.

Taxi Rides home from the Library.

Don't want to walk home alone late at night? This free taxi service has you covered!

Chair massages.

Yep, MASSAGES for FREE. You can book them in the library starting at 4:30 PM.

Global Snack Break at the World Exchange Lounge.

Sign me UP, MY LORD! Catch this Monday, Dec. 10, 7 - 9 p.m.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
