7 Productive Tasks To Do On Your Days Off

Since I already finished school, I have all this free time now. So what do I do with all this free time you ask? I work. I have been working full-time at my job. Since I no longer have homework, projects, or class stuff to do. I just put all my time into working. I love keeping busy – it makes me feel quite productive and sometimes working doesn't even feel like working, since my coworkers are really cool. But even though I don't mind working, I'm always looking forward to enjoying my days off. After working all week, a couple of days off is well deserved. So what do I do on my days off? Well like I said, I like to stay productive. So I try to do productive things.

1. Run errands.

On my days off, I use my free time to run any errands that need to be done. Whether it is washing my car, grocery shopping, or taking my passport photos, I try to get them done before I have to go back to work the next day or two.

2. Work out.

Even though I work out on days I do work, on my days off I like to incorporate more workout routines. Like instead of taking a group class, I focus on doing legs, arms, or back. I try to do more weight training than cardio on these days, this way I'm also toning and not just burning calories.

3. Go shopping.

I love to go shopping! After having worked a long week, I feel like the best way to reward yourself is to go shopping. It is okay to spend some of that hard-earned money whether you realize this or not. I love to go to the mall and stock up on some cute cardigans or some more make up from Sephora. It is also a great way to unwind. I feel like shopping helps me relax and it reminds me why I work so much... obviously to keep up with my expensive taste.

4. Have a nice lunch or dinner.

Sometimes I can only eat one meal a day because of how busy I am at work. So on my days off, I try to go have a nice, decent, not-rushed meal. I like to sit back and enjoy every last piece that I am eating, and I love to spend time with the people who I am with.

5. Read poetry.

Reading poetry is a great way to relax, and it helps your mind temporarily forget about other things. Poetry has always been a relaxant for me. The way the words flow and the meanings of each poem are all just too beautiful.

6. Hang out with your significant other.

This is my all time favorite thing to do – especially since we are in a long-distance relationship. We try to use our days off to see each other. After a long week of work, I definitely need a hug from my SO.

7. Sleep.

Sometimes you can't even drag me away from my bed. When I am super exhausted, I just like to sleep in all morning... possibly even into the afternoon.

So, friends, those are a few things you can do on your days off!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
