Sometimes it's better to party uninterrupted.

Okay, let's be real, both are amazing and you really can't go wrong with either of the two. But now that the Winter/Spring seasons are among us, there are definitely a few positives that come along with it.

Although we love our football team to death, here are a few different things highlighting the reasons why "Daylong Szn" can be significantly better than "Tailgating Szn":

1. More room for creative outfits and themes.

Football games don't really give you that much room for creative outfits. In the spring, however... you can get as creative and weird as you want. From guys breaking out their vintage basketball jerseys to girls rocking pizza onesies and clever graphic T's, it's almost exciting to look forward to the outfits that people will come up with. Let's not forget about the neon goggles and high ponytails for the fun "80's Ski Lodge" theme that reoccurs about every other weekend.

2. There's no FOMO about football games.

If you're a poor college student like me, you probably opted out of purchasing season tickets this year. If you chose to do that, you know that there is nothing worse than being at a daylong while everyone else is at Beaver Stadium cheering on our football team, especially during more popular games against Temple and Ohio State for example.

3. It's legitimately a DAY LONG.

There is no need to stop the partying to leave for the football game, and you find that sometimes the best daylongs even carry on into the night.

4. There's no need to wake up ungodly early.

Noon games are public enemy number one during tailgating season. There is nothing worse than having to wake up at 8 or 9 a.m. for a brunch that starts super early due to the afternoon game time. During daylong szn, you simply just roll out of bed around 11 or 12 p.m. and get your party on shortly after, full of energy having gotten a full nights sleep.

5. It's less crowded because there aren't tons of visitors.

Not that visitors are a problem, but it does get slightly annoying when they swarm the frats like they own the place. Get outta here.

6. You don't have to separate from your friends.

During football season there are always people in your friend group who want to leave to go to the game, and others who want to stay and party their lives away. This simply isn't a problem in the Spring.

7. You save money by not buying a million chicken baskets.

Those things are expensive. Let's do some quick math. One chicken basket per game = roughly 100 bucks for a whole season of home games (not including the price of drinks). Ouch.

8. You don't have to walk all the way to/from Beaver Stadium

This is pretty self-explanatory. Everyone knows that the chances of squeezing onto the Blue/White Loop during game day are slim to none, not to mention the skyrocketed price of Ubers, which leaves you with the sole option of marching all the way up to Beaver Stadium from fratland. (Let's not forget about the dreaded and hungover walk back). All ya have to worry about during daylong season is stumbling from your dorm/apartment to Fratland and back.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
