I never thought I could be so lucky.

It took me 20 years to find my prince charming, and now that I've found him, I plan on never letting him go for anyone or anything.

In April of 2015, I made the brave decision to get out of a relationship that was destroying me inside and out. When I made that decision, I wasn't actually planning on getting in another relationship for a while, at least that was my plan at the time. A friend of mine told me about an app one day during a choir rehearsal. The app is well known but mostly by the action one has to take to pick people they like and ones they don't. Swipe left or swipe right; yes, the app was Tinder. And unlike others, I'm actually proud to tell people that I meant the love of my life on an app, because either way, at least I found someone who makes me happy.

He swiped right first and that was within my profile being up for a matter of minutes. Once I saw his profile (of course I liked what I saw) I swiped right as well. And so the romancing began. The first time he and I started talking I knew I had found someone who was just as sarcastic and dryly comical as I am. He sent the first message and he was the one who first asked for a number and he was the first to send a friend request from Facebook.

We only really talked for a few days and then we decided on our first date, and that is a day I hope to never forget because it was really the first date I've ever been on, and it was wonderful. I had just gotten done performing in a friend’s recital and headed straight to meet Michael for the first time. The whole way there, I had butterflies in my stomach and something in my head was trying to tell me to turn around and go back to my dorm. But I knew that this was a chance for me to try finding that certain someone again; so I kept going and I met up with him in the parking lot of his community college after he was done with class.

It was a little awkward because I was done up all fancy. A dress, tights, and heels is not really something one should wear when your first date with someone is going bowling. He met me at my car and (oddly enough) we walked right over to his and he drove us to the bowling alley. He's all casual in jeans and a t-shirt and I'm sticking out like a sore thumb in my dress and bowling shoes.

But the night didn't stop there. After bowling, we decided we were going to go have dinner. Now if you've ever been to Pittsburg, Kansas, there's not that many places to eat that aren't too pricey. But we decided on Buffalo Wild Wings since he had never been there, and the whole time we were there, we talked and talked. After dinner, we headed back to the parking lot where my car sat waiting.

We sat in his car for a while and talked a little more, and yes we kissed. He had asked me the day of if he might get a kiss, and all I told him was that we would see how the night went. Well, he beat me to the punch. I was about to lean in but he just put his hand on my cheek and kissed me before I got the chance to return the favor. And of course because the date went so well and I didn't want it to end, we might have made out a little before I said I had to get back to campus.

The whole drive back to school, I felt like I was on cloud 9. Now I know everyone makes their first date seem a little cliché about how it made them feel and everything, but once I got back to my dorm I just couldn't wait until the next time I would get to see him. Thankfully he felt the same way; I, of course, let him know that I got back to my room ok and we immediately tried to come up with a day that we would be able to go out again.

And ever since that first date things have just kept getting better and better between us. We've gotten so much closer and, well I don't know about him, but I fall more and more in love with him every single day.

And now that we're engaged, I can't wait to spend every day for the rest of my life with the man I love.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
