It’s the night before, and I realize how much stuff I have to do tomorrow, so I set an alarm for 9. It lets me sleep in a little bit, but gets me up early enough to get stuff done. I shouldn’t have to worry about getting enough sleep, because I fell asleep around midnight.
The next morning:
9am—My alarm goes off, I roll over, turn it off and decide to go back to sleep due to a terrible migraine and everything hurting.
10:45am—I roll over, look at my phone and realize I need to get up to get things done for the day. I respond to some texts I missed from the night before and scroll through Facebook to wake myself up.
11:15am—I finally drag my exhausted self out of bed, and head to the kitchen to make some coffee.
11:30am—I decide to start a load of laundry, and after the load of laundry, I decide to head back to bed.
2:30pm—I wake up from my unplanned nap and go to finish my laundry. I still have a terrible migraine and am in pain.
2:45pm—I go into the kitchen and try to find something to eat.
3:00pm—I finally decide on some toast and water, because that’s the only thing that doesn’t make me want to vomit.
3:30pm—I realize how much homework I have to do for my online class, so I decide I should at least try to get some done.
4:00pm—No homework got done because my head hurt from just looking at the computer screen.
4:15—I start another load of laundry, and go lie down.
5:30—I am woken up by my dad asking me what I want for dinner.
6:00pm—My dad comes home with Panera soup and half a sandwich.
6:30pm—I only ate the soup, because the sandwich made me sick.
7:00pm—I finish my laundry, lay down, and attempt to sleep.
8:00pm—Still not asleep.
9:30pm—I break down and take my pain meds.
10:30pm—I am finally asleep.
As you can see, it really is a struggle being a person with a chronic illness. This was one of my bad days, but you still have to try to be somewhat productive.
