Many people are curious about what a day actually looks like for cadets. It is a pretty hectic schedule so it makes sense that they aren’t sure how we fit everything that we need to in one.

0600-0630

Wake up and put on whatever uniform you were told to wear the night before. Some people might shower depending on their level of motivation.

0645

Morning formation begins. That means you just stand in the hallway and wait while someone looks over your uniform.

0700

Go to breakfast if your heart desires. Also depends on your level of motivation for the day.

0730-1123

Class. Schedule varies based on the individual.

1135

Formed up for Noon Meal Formation. This is the opportunity for all of the world to watch us do one of our least favorite things….marching.

1155

Lunch starts with announcements about anything and everything we may or may not need to know for the near future. This meal could be delicious or questionable at best. Don’t worry though, if you choose to visit we normally we have better food on those days.

1230

This could be class or a roll call or some other briefing. It just depends on the day.

1330-1523

The rest of the class schedule unless you are an intercollegiate athlete in which case you are most likely at practice.

1530-1730

This time period can change a lot depending on the person. Athletes are probably at practice, clubs are probably doing club things, intramurals are going on for the people that it applies to.

1700-1900

Optional dinner. The amount of people who go to this depends greatly on what is being served.

1915-1945

Available time for briefings and other meetings if necessary.

1945-2300

Time given for homework or other things if you still need to do your job.

2300

Taps, or as I like to call it, optional bedtime.

2400

Second optional bedtime…..

0100

Usually regretting procrastinating at this point…..

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
