A Day in the Life of a Nerd

The Shocking Truth

A Day in the Life of a Nerd
Unknown

I've recently heard a lot of criticism that has been aimed at nerds and how we are so different from everyone else. I think it's time to reveal the true nature of a nerd.

1. Wake up and Shower

This is essential for everyone, even nerds. If you don't shower, then I don't think we can be friends.

2. Select nerdy t-shirt of the day

I wear some kind of nerdy shirt everyday because those are the shirts that I have. I think I have a Batman-themed shirt for everyday of the week. I like to express my love of Batman as well as other things that I'm interested in.

3. Go to work/school jammin' to music

I'm a huge 80's fan, so i often listen to music of that decade.

4. Make nerdy references that only other nerds will get

This is one thing that we can't help; the references are burned into our memory and we feel obligated o make them when situations occur. We really wish that everyone could get the references that we make instead of just looking at us like we're crazy.

5. Spend massive amounts of time on google and/or YouTube

We like to spend time learning about our obsessions and what others' opinions are of those particular interests.

6. Watch nerdy shows/movies

I feel like this applies to everyone since most people watch some form of TV. I always watch the shows I like when they come on TV.

7. Change into nerdy pajamas

I also have Batman shirts that are designated for sleeping.

8. Go to sleep in nerdy blankets and covers

My blankets are also Batman-themed.

Nerds aren't all that different from other people. We just tend to spend time concentrating on things that others may not have any interest in, but that seems to go both ways from where I'm sitting.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
