A Day In The Life Of A Busy College Student

The Struggle Is So Real.

A Day In The Life Of A Busy College Student

The life of a college student is totally a struggle. Especially when you're taking six classes at once, working, living a healthy (for the most part) lifestyle, and trying to continue to be involved on campus. Priorities truly have to be balanced. Here's a typical day for a busy college student:

Waking up is truly the biggest struggle of the day...

YES THIS IS WHAT MY ALARMS LOOK LIKE TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. JUDGE ME. I have to get ready for the day, pick up my study group who has the same schedule as me, drive to school, find a spot, and run to class so we can get a good spot in class. (Nope not lame, I make good grades so I couldn't care less.)

Class starts at 8 AM? Three flights of stairs? Cool.

To be completely real, I sometimes try to say the amount of stairs I have to climb up and down everyday is enough working out to justify Chick Fil A for lunch...

Class ends, what did I just learn?

Don't ask me what I have learned in Organic Chemistry today. Or Microbiology. Or Environmental Toxicology. I need time to get it together...

LOL. Sooo it's only noon..... Lunch?

This is definitely the highlight of my time on campus during the day. I love all of the options I have to choose from on campus. The caf is always free if you have a friend with a buddy pass, and the Sub has a lot of healthy foods. Then again, I did all of that stair stepping earlier, I have earned the milkshake from Chick Fil A right? Cheat meals are okay.

The only reason i'm going to Calculus is because you're making me.

Four days a week. An hour a day. I am totally confused for an entire hour, and it is probably 900 degrees in this classroom. But we are all in this together, right? Oh and 3 flights of stairs again. Cool.

NAP TIME.

I need more sleep. I try and fit a good power nap in so I can stay up later to study. I have a date with the library.

Night labs are SO convenient.

Any class in the afternoon is convenient. I hate morning classes. All of my labs for my science classes are in the afternoon, and I am honestly so thankful for it.

Should I workout?

I need to go for a run. But I could watch netflix, sleep more, lay in bed, DO NOTHING. Most of the time I do go to the Planet Fitness and get a good workout in, but sometimes I can't resist an extra hour or two of sleep.

Hello, Library. I haven't seen you since yesterday.....

I am in the library on campus at least 5 or 6 days out of the week. My study group (#blessed) meets there, we try and use an open classroom, and pretty much camp out there all night. We are there hours upon hours everyday. The library is open until 2 AM.... We might as well utilize all of their hours.....

Dinner break from studying IS NECESSARY.

If I don't get food while studying I wouldn't survive. I have to have something.

SOS The library is now closed and I am literally so tired.

Okay, yes I am going to bed. Wait this is due in the morning. Okay done. Oh Facebook. Oh Twitter. Oh Instagram. Oh Vine. SOS ITS 4 AM GOODNIGHT...

That's pretty much how my life goes everyday. Yes I do have fun on the weekends sometimes, but being involved on campus and studying can really get overwhelming. So I try and go out every once and awhile to take a real break from everything. Having great friends is also the best way to get through it all as well!

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
