Earth Day has come and gone, but we are all still here and we should all still be contributing for the rest of the year. Sometimes, it's impossible to live a garbage-free life but there are small things anyone can do in their day to day life that help reduce the waste we produce.
1. No more paper plates!
Have guests coming over? Empty the dishwasher, or make your friends wash their own dish when they're done.
2. Reusable water bottles
Instead of plastic ones, just use a reusable one and again, wash it.
3. Turn the water off when you brush your teeth
Save a little bit of water, you've been washing a lot of stuff.
4. No plastic utensils
Again, good old metal is the way to go on this one.
5. Turn your lights off!
It saves a little bit of money and also, you don't need all of those lights on! Your dad was right.
6. Recycle!!!
It's so easy and something that helps reduce the massive amount of landfills we have.
7. No straws at restaurants
They just get thrown away! All of them! Just drink out of the cup.
8. Red Solo cups can be passed on
Sure, at big parties it's better than glasses being broken, but for most get-togethers? Just use your glassware.
9. Reach out to big companies
As much as day-to-day things help, there are huge companies making environmental valleys compared to everyday environmental footprint.
