Day And Night At WSU

Some people prefer weekdays, and others prefer weekends.

Lights flash everywhere as we chase each other around a small room with many other people.

You crash your body on the couch, we laugh and laugh but don't talk much at all.

The weekend goes by spontaneously as we chat all night.

Hi and bye, the concept many people live every weekend.

Not everyone does this.

Some people do.

All weekend long, boys and girls try to hook up with one another.

Whether or not it’s to find Mr. or Mrs. RIght, or to have a good time.

During the week sometimes the person they hooks up with doesn't even acknowledge their existence.

Everyone swarms like bees on campus, trying to get to class.

Class becomes even more crucial than before.

Thoughts flood our brains as we scurry around like little field mice.

Normal conversation on weekdays.

On the weekends, people are more likely to be inebriated

Not as many rational decisions.

How’s Chemistry? What are you majoring in?

How awkward.

How normal.

The lights go down and we ask more questions and make more comments.

People are on auction.

There is no such thing as awkward.

Attraction takes over.

Looks speak louder than the words.

I observe and observe some more.

We smile, we dance, we look our best after 8pm

Thursday, Friday,

and Saturday.

We are acquaintances during the week.

Shut inside ourselves.

We are free spirited on the weekend.

We have no problems, nothings wrong anymore.

Nothing looks like a mistake when there’s an overwhelming amount of mistakes around you.

The thought of this moment is all I think about as I walk to class the next day.

The way we interact towards each other on the weekends vs. the weekdays fascinates me.

It consumes my mind, I ponder it.

Human interactions are my main interest.

The psychological way that we form and act on decisions.

Human nature, humanity itself.

Constantly meeting new people.

New freedoms.

The transition from high school to college.

This can be overwhelming.

Spontaneous.

Hangout with the people during the week.

Make sure you find your people.

Your new family.

A support system.

Don’t go through anything alone.

“College is the best four years of our life”

I heard this often before stepping foot on campus.

As a freshman, I have had to adjust and take in the experience which is WSU.

Nothing can prepare you for the constant eye contact from the opposite sex.

The frequent “Go Cougs” being yelled on the streets, and the double life most of us play a part in.

People are everywhere.

People are all within the same age.

People are enjoying their time away from home.

Not everyone is different on the weekends than the weekdays, but some of us are.

The best part about WSU and, college in general, is you get to choose what you do.

Choose your friends, your future career, and live for you.

There is no doubt in my mind that the next four years will indeed be the best years of my life.

This school is remarkable and so are the people in it.

I joined Greek life when I came here and it was honestly the best decision I have made in awhile.

I have never been happier with the sorority I am in and they continue to amaze me and make me explode with laughter on the daily.

Greek life or not WSU is the place to be.

Whether you play a sport, are into reading, science, music, art, greek life or all of the above we are truly a community like no other.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

247
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
