We finally heard from the lady in white herself, Hillary Clinton as she accepted the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. (For those of you who didn't watch, she did indeed wear a white pantsuit.) The former and possibly future first daughter opened up the night with stories about growing up with her mother.

Video from CBS.

Chelsea Clinton, in her speech, recalled times at the dinner table, when she was growing up, and just fond memories she has from her mother. She said that no matter the memories she has of her mother, that Hillary was always there for her.

It's very clear that they are still trying to make Hillary "seem human." But of course she's human, it's just that most people don't like this human, most people don't trust this human.

Video from PBS.

Hillary Clinton officially accepted the nominee in her speech, but not before she could attack Donald Trump and get to her own policies.

“Donald Trump says he wants to make America great again,” she said in a reference to his signature line. “Well, he could start by making things in America again,” she said.

One of Clinton's big selling points against Trump is that he said "I alone can fix it," suggesting he thought he can fix everything by himself. When Trump said this line, he then went on to talk about working with others to "make America great again." (factcheck.org)

Clinton even rejected Trumps border security proposal. She said "we will not build a wall." However as a senator, Clinton voted for and supported legislation to add more fencing along the border.

Clinton then began talking about the top 1%, sounding much like Bernie. She said that 90% of income gains have gone to the top 1%, but that is an outdated figure. It is 52%. (factcheck.org.)

Reporters on NBC even said this speech seemed more like a Bernie speech than a Hillary speech policy wise. They didn't believe she would have given this speech a year ago.

In my opinion, the Democratic National Convention seemed to have went better than the Republican Convention, over all. They had more well known celebrities, their convention was actually full, and Bill didn't try to plagiarize Michelle Obama's speech. The crowd was more involved as well.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
