Yesterday, Hillary Clinton officially became the Democratic nominee for President. "I can't believe we just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet," she said. "And to any little girls who stayed up late to watch, she said: "I may become the first woman president but one of you is next." The camera then panned to show her with a bunch of girls. Democrat or Republican, yesterday made history.
96 years after women got the right to vote, we have the first woman nominee for president, and yes she is playing the woman card. She very much thinks you should vote for her for POTUS because she is a woman. There were lots of tears in the crowd when she was named the nominee.
This video is from PBS.
This was Bill Clinton's 10th consecutive convention speech, but this one was different. He spoke about the first time he saw Hillary Rohdam. He spoke about her mother, and how her mother had a lot of hardship. That is apparently how Hillary got her introduction into social justice. He told the story that it took him three tries to get her to marry him.
He didn't dare speak of the times he had cheated. He didn't mention the Monica scandal. He didn't mention the possible sexual misconduct that he had done. He didn't mention all the times Hillary had lied to cover his ass.
He told of all the positive changes that Hillary made before she was 30 regarding social justice. He said you should disregard the "cartoon" painted of Hillary by the other party and vote based on the "real" Hillary he sees.
I don't know how real she is when her social views change like the wind. She didn't even support same sex marriage until 2013.
Bill told of all the educational help Hillary did in Arkansas. He said that Arkansas schools went from the "worst" when he started as governor to two of the "most improved" and he gave Hillary a lot of the credit. This is a very mixed record according to factcheck.org. In 1992, the state had made progress but it was still near the bottom in most of the national ratings.
Bill stated that the United States' approval rating soared 20 percent while Hillary was secretary of state, but analyses don't support this claim.
Today we are supposed to hear from Biden and Kaine.
