Davis Webb, starting quarterback for California Berkeley, outdid himself in Cal's season opener on Aug 26. This was also Webb's first game for this team.
In the game, he managed to throw for four touchdowns, 441 yards, and ran for a touchdown. He also had no interceptions. His performance was good enough to help the team get a 51-31 victory.
While he did do well, he also had some struggles. One of which was confidence in his arm. He seemed to throw a lot of short passes, and didn't take a lot of chances in the middle of the field. This can be good at times, like here, but it would be nice to see him take more chances.
Some say that since this was only Hawaii, it doesn't really show his full potential. While this may be true, it still shows that he can lead his team to 50+ point victories in the road. Not only on the road, but overseas in Australia.
The team's next game is against San Diego State in San Diego, and if he plays like he did in the previous game, the team will be just fine.
